General Information
The Education Commission serves as an advisory body to the Senate and the Rector.
The commission is formed by the Rector from at least five members, including faculty
members in academic units under the chairmanship of the Vice Rector responsible for
education and training. The Chairman of the Commission is the Vice Rector responsible for
education and training, and the rapporteur is the Head of the Student Affairs.
Tasks of the commission
1. Provides opinion on the appropriateness of proposals for opening, closing or merging
academic units (faculty, institute, department, field, research and application center, etc.).
2. Reviews proposals for opening/closing/merging undergraduate, graduate, minor, double
major, joint undergraduate and graduate programs and gives opinion.
3. Provides opinion on new courses proposed to be opened, closure of existing courses,
changes to be made in existing courses (name, code, content, credit, etc.) or structuring the
status of courses (compulsory/elective) in teaching programs.
4. Provides opinion regarding the documents to be issued to students/graduates in order to
establish standards.
5. Provides opinion to determine the academic calendar in line with recommendations.
6. Examines the problems encountered in the adjustment of credits of courses taken from
domestic and foreign higher education institutions.
7. Examines the prepared/altered regulations and directives regarding education and training.
8. Determines processes regarding education and training in accordance with changes in
legislation.
9. Provides opinion on the compliance with the legislation of the conditions submitted to the
Senate agenda regarding student admission to graduate programs.
10. Performs other duties assigned by the Rector regarding education.
